How to read the accords
Primary accord is the dominant identity of the fragrance: the strongest character and the main way the scent will be remembered.
Secondary accord supports the primary, shaping the direction and mood. It adds balance, contrast and depth without overpowering.
Softer accords (3rd, 4th, 5th…) are background layers. They are subtler but they influence texture, evolution on skin and longevity — like fine details in a painting.
Why notes repeat: A single ingredient can belong to more than one accord (for example, vetiver is both woody and earthy), so you may see the same note highlighted in different accord descriptions.
